What do we see as the 3 biggest challenges in the world today?
I think poverty, war and pollution are the 3 biggest challenges in the world today. These terms include not only poverty and war but also political conflicts and misunderstandings. For us as western people who have all chances and can go everywhere, these problems are not so present in our everyday life. Still it affects us. Especially pollution, and natural catastrophs like we just recently had in Japan affects the whole world and us as western countries as well. Therefore we should all do something to avoid it and work against it. We should work against atompolitic and do something for our environment.
The gab between rich and poor becomes bigger and bigger. There is hardly found a middle, we should try to give things we don´t need to poorer and therefore help such people to become richer and be able to live a better life. We should also spent money and help such people to become educated and to get medical help.
How can we work on that as a professional?
As a teacher you could definitly do something to prevent these happenings. You could watch movies with the children to let them know what happens in the world and to make them aware of global changes. In that way you can create a simple awareness of the children on such circumstances. As a teacher you have to be open minded to get to know more about pollution and what happens in the world. You have to be well informed and able to have political discussions and allround knowledge.You could also do projects like raising money for poor people with your children or walk around the city and make the children aware of where you can find poorness in your own neighborhod.
